Two day workshop with Alan Cunnigham -Ph.D. in Intellectual Property Law and Theory-. During these days the resident curators reviewed issues concerning certain forms of contemporary art and copyright law, specifically topics related to appropriation, contractual issues and moral rights.

Node hosted a two-day Tools & Install workshop by Sabrina Basten. Our resident curators learned basics about tools, improved their drilling-, sawing- and painting skills and learned useful tips for installing artworks. Besides practising on mini-scale, on Day 2 Node Center’s walls got a few holes that were subsequently carefully plastered and repainted.

Node hosted a workshop on graphic design basics by Laura d’Ors. Main aim of the workshop was to give guidelines for an efficient workflow among curators and designers concerning publication issues.

Node hosted a three-day workshop on Law & Art by Intellectual Property lecturer Alan Cunningham.

Alan Cunningham has a PhD in Intellectual Property Law and Theory and has taught courses on Copyright and Intellectual Property at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia and Queen Mary, University of London. He has participated with numerous artist run spaces in Berlin, most recently with ALTES FINANZAMT, specifically in relation to their project the Neukölln Acadamy Of Now!, for which he curated the event Art vs Law: An Inherent Conflict?

Node Director Perla Montelongo gave our resident curators the second part of the Project Management Workshop started earlier this week. This time with special visitors Bea and Zippi. Discussed points during the workshop were planning, schedule and risk factors.

On this first part of the workshop the residents were shown the initial phases of a project –Initiation and Planning: setting a goal and choosing the right strategy. The workshop will be further developed within the next weeks.
